Yoga is most definitely my jam. It wasn't always, but now I see it as a forever thing. It is more than a physical practice, it is a lifestyle.
I even take yoga on the road with me wherever I go. I have taken it coast to coast & from this continent to that continent & it always serves me well. It is completely mobile & a highly effective way to start the day, to end the day & all throughout the day!
Yoga is not to be confined to a studio or even to a mat. Commuting to work - yoga. Sitting at your desk - yoga. You catch my drift...yoga!
The month of October has been all about committing to my personal yoga practice as I also continue to build my professional yoga business. By simply taking action, I have gotten clear on where I want this to go.
I have learned that I really enjoy introducing kids to the yoga practice. With a background in elementary education & a master's degree in school/community counseling, this comes as no surprise. It is amazing how much general learning happens with the little ones & how capable the older ones are of a higher level yoga with an emphasis on self-reflection.
The adult classes are great too. I can really incorporate the idea of energy flow(prana) through the body & guide my students towards finding aha moments on the mat that they can take off the mat with them throughout their day.
Yoga is not only about a physical flexibility to be used on the mat. It's about a flexibility of the mind & spirit as well that can guide us through the highs & lows of life.
Always be curious...
I'll be honest, as I am writing this, I am only a few chapters into You are a Badass. So far, so good. The discussion about our personal energy & vibrations really resonates with me. I realize that this seems "out there" to some, but for me it makes total sense. Like the phrase "your vibe, attracts your tribe." Most certainly true. Send a little positivity out into the world & the world will send it right back. Now that's not to be delusional & think simply by having a positive attitude one won't come across obstacles! It's just that those obstacles won't feel quite as heavy if you start from a place of positivity.
I have my yoga "ritual" & I have my vitamin "Ritual" as well. I'll be honest, I was a little hesitant to give these a try. It just looks & sounds too good to be true. But, I'm digging it. I have been taking the Ritual vitamin for about a year, maybe a little longer & I feel good! I look forward to taking it in the morning. It has a minty taste & goes down nice & smooth. Sorry to the men, but this one is specifically formulated to meet womens needs. Perhaps, they will create one for men in the future. But, for now, ladies, I would definitely recommend starting your day with a Ritual vitamin.
