Warrior One or as I like to think of it Warrior "Won." It's a winning kind of a pose. It strengthens your shoulders, arms, legs, ankles & back. It opens your hips, chest and lungs. It improves focus, balance and stability. It promotes good circulation and respiration. It truly energizes the whole body. Give it a try!
Warrior Onc feels like an extra special pose to me these days because I just wrapped up a 5 week series with a small group of elementary age students and the culminating class was Dancing Warrior. We broke down the poses that make up Dancing Warrior & then put it all back together. The kids quickly came to realize the strength that is needed to hold each of the poses. They quickly came to realize the focus that is needed to put all of the poses together as a flow. Then they quickly realized how powerful & successful they felt at the end of it all. I am so proud of this small group & the work that we did together. Yoga is such a powerful practice both physically and mentally. I invite you to invite yoga(or deepen your current yoga practice) into your 2019 goals!
Just Be Curious....
Along with reading other books throughout the year, I like to re-read chapters from The Happiness Project & Happier at Home by Gretchen Rubin. I love Happier at Home because it starts with September(which aligns well with #feelingsfitnessfallfreshstart). The December chapter is such a fun play on words, "Interior" Design and "Renovate" Myself referring to not only you physical space, but the space within you inner being. How will you "renovate" yourself in 2019.
Yet another plug for essential oils. I prefer to use Young Living, but there definitely are other reputable brands as well. As I continue to eliminate toxins from my household, I have introduced dryer balls instead of dry sheets. After washing clothing, sheets, towels, etc. with a few drops of tea tree oil in the liquid detergent, I put a few drops of citrus fresh onto a dryer ball and toss it all into the dryer. Laundered items come out feeling super soft & smelling so fresh! Haven't tried essential oils? Let 2019 be your year to experience the many benefits of essential oils.
