Feelings Fitness is about learning ways of being flexible both mentally(through mindfulness) & physically(through yoga). It’s a space to find & share gratitude which always proves to be a win-win, everyone feels good. It’s also a space to feel united(in sanskrit yoga translates to union) & know we are not alone in the many trials & tribulations of life. As July comes to a close & back to school is right around the corner, I reflect back on the summer. There were so many times throughout the summer when I had to “just flow with it.” You know, just go with the flow because if I didn't, I probably would have lost my mind! I found ways of making the most of this season of my life, taking the good with the frustrating & knowing that there is meaning that can be found in all of it. I had to just flow with the extra hours of entertaining the kids. I am of the opinion that summer is a time of leisure, not a time to be over scheduled. My kids did not go to day camps or participate in many directed activities for that matter, instead they were given lots of creative freedom. I would set them up with paints, sidewalk chalk, bubbles, kinetic sand, slip & slides, etc. We spent a lot of time at the pool, simply socializing & splashing in the water. We spent time with friends & family, camping, planting gardens, and just soaking in the summer sun together. I had to just flow with my yoga practice being limited. The classes that I would usually take were put on hold until the school year would begin again. I still found time first thing in the morning to do a quick session with my favorite online teachers, Yoga with Adriene or Allie the Journey Junkie. The beauty of this type of yoga is that it can go on the road with you too. I was able to take a long weekend with family & still squeeze in some yoga. I knew I could fire up You Tube, find a practice with Adriene or Allie and it would help prepare me for the long demanding day ahead. I had to just flow with the fact that my small jewelry business & my blogging would be limited too. I tried to pencil in a “quiet time” for the kids in order to have a few minutes to post on my FB pages & map out my blog writing each day. My followers are few, my posts are limited, but it is a space that I love & I hope it will grow. It's not about the "likes," it's about hopefully uniting & helping others by sharing my story. It's about dreaming a new dream & mindfully powering through it! The shift from the school schedule and welcoming the laid back summer days is a time that I love, but I also love the shift back to a scheduled life as well. I’m a true lover of the seasons and always do my best to embrace what each new season has to offer! This summer season we certainly created plenty of memories that I will cherish forever. When a window of time opens up, I plan to blog about my summer activities with the kids in the @kids section.
***Talk about the ultimate test of flexibility…all of my writing disappeared for this blog & I had to start all over, ugh! Yep, Margaret Thatcher, I agree, "No great goal was ever easily achieved!"

I loved this posts! A lot of gems and a lot of truths are in your words. I love that you're embracing this season of life as well as this season of the year. Your unscheduled summer sounds dreamy; ours was the exact opposite. I agree about the changing of the seasons - I love the shift back into a routine and thinking about fall. And it's definitely all about flexibility!
